Maserati’s CEO has confirmed that it will be releasing five new models, starting with the 2014 Quattroporte, between now and 2015.
Harald Wester, Maserati CEO, said the models to follow the new Quattroporte will be the Ghibli mid-size sedan coming next year, the Levante SUV available in mid-2014, and a GranTurismo replacement and a new sports car in 2015.
Lorenzo Ramaciotti, Maserati styling boss, said that the GranTurismo and GranTurismo convertible replacement will be smaller than the current car. It will be closer in size to a Jaguar XK than the current GranTurismo model.
The new sports car is said to be competitive with a Porsche 911. It is possible that the sports car will be a new mid-engine GranSport model that Wester previously hinted at.
All the models are expected to have the new Ferrari built twin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6 and 3.8-liter V-8 engines that will be available in the 2014 Quattroporte.
