During this year’s event in Monterey, held from Aug. 14-16, Mecum Auctions saw 645 classic and collector cars roll across their auction block on the Del Monte Golf Course. Combine this large showing of cars with the crowd of active bidders and you have the recipe for a very successful auction. After all was said and done, Mecum’s 2014 Monterey auction, their sixth-annual, had total sales reaching $34,651,635 throughout the three-day event, according to a press release issued by the auction company Aug. 20.
