The annual concours d’elegance events held around the world, from Pebble Beach, California, to Amelia Island, Florida, to England’s Salon Prive, have for years been the pinnacle events of the automotive world.
Collectors from across the country and cars from around the world gather to compete for the recognition of Best in Class, and in honor of their 100th anniversary, Miami Beach will be host to the next of these prestigious competitions.
Scheduled for March 22, the Miami Beach Concours d’Elegance will be the first part of a 100-hours of celebration scheduled throughout the week. Though it is already recognized as an international hot spot for luxury cars, this will be the first event of its kind the city has ever seen.
Beginning at noon, the Miami Beach Golf Club will host the judged competition, after which will be a parade of the winners down Ocean Drive from 5 to 8 pm. Presenting the Best of Show award is Paolo Pininfarina, Pininfarina’s Group Chairman, who was invited to be both a guest of honor and a juror for the event. Similar to Miami Beach, the legendary Italian design house is celebrating their monumental 85th anniversary.
“I am honored to participate in the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the City of Miami Beach,” said Paolo Pininfarina in a release from the Concours. “We chose Miami as the home for our Pininfarina office as we believe it represents the most energetic city in the US, able to understand and appreciate our design.”
Among the other commercial partners of the event, which include Keurig, World Red Eye and Hennessey, duPont REGISTRY will also be celebrating an anniversary. It has been a tremendous 30 years since the first issue of duPont REGISTRY: A Buyers Gallery of Fine Automobiles was published.
General Admission tickets to the event are $40, while VIP tickets are $100. Tickets can be purchased at the Miami Beach Concours d’Elegance website by clicking the button below.
