As the 3-Series disappears, a brand new 4-Series makes it’s way into BMW’s lineup. With the arrival of the 4-Series comes the M4. We have been waiting for BMW’s unveiling of the new performance coupe, and I am happy to say the sheets have finally been pulled back on the M4.
This concept has classic M styling with new technology that will advance the series into the future.
While the design may not be groundbreaking or completely new, there are minor touches that make the M4 more than attractive and breath-taking. For example, the new coupe is finished in “Aurum Dust,” an exclusive color created just for the model.
In the front we see the familiar double kidney grille and a carbon fiber front splitter. Three large air intakes keep the powerful engine cool. Upon a closer inspection of the outermost intakes, you can see the sharply outlined vertical air vents. These comprise the Air Curtain design, which improves air flow.
From the side, you see a longer car when compared to the M3 – including total length, wheelbase and bonnet. BMW redesigned the side gills for the M4, which include the Air Breather. This implementation, along with the Air Curtain, ventilate the wheel arches and provide better airflow. Exclusively designed 20″ M light alloys and M carbon ceramic brakes finish off the sporty appearance on the sides.
The rear end of the M4 does a great job of portraying the car’s power and sportiness. The carbon-fiber tailpipes will most likely be the first thing you notice about the rear. Between the tailpipes is a little diffuser. A slight rear spoiler can also be found on the trunk lid.
Unfortunately, we have no word on what engine will be powering the M4, as it is technically a concept as of now. What we do know is that this concept has classic M styling with new technology that will advance the series into the future.
