BMW has just announced a couple updates that will be included in the 2014 BMW M6, and 6-series Convertible,Coupe and Gran Coupe.
The most exciting change, in my honest opinion, is the addition of an optional 6-speed manual transmission that is offered at no extra cost. Along with the manual transmission comes an engine management system that will automatically rev-match on downshifts. For the purists out there who scoff at the idea of computer regulated downshifts, just switch the car into Sport+ mode and the rev-matching is cancelled.
Another major update is the addition of M Carbon Ceramic brakes. With this brake system, you get large front and rear brake rotors that are incredibly light (19.4 kg). These brakes have an incredibly long life-span and also discharge away heat that is generated by braking at high speeds.
Other additions include; BMW xDrive in the Gran Goupe model, and BMW iDrive 4.2 in the M6 and Gran Coupe. This latest version of BMW iDrive displays in 3-D and as a dedicated 1.3 GHz processor and graphics card.
