The Audi R8 has an extensive racing history, which includes the most recent win of last year’s 24 Hours Nürburgring where the car first debuted. According to a press release, the Audi race history currently stands at 323 wins, in both national and international races. To commemorate the brand’s successful history, Audi is set to release a special edition version of the R8 Coupe V10 called “selection 24h.”
Limited to 24 examples, the “selection 24h” will feature a 5.2-liter V10, which is capable of hitting 0-60 in 3.2 seconds and reaches top speeds of 205 mph. The powerful engine boasts 610 hp with a dry weight of 3205.5 lbs. Construction is mainly comprised of aluminum and carbon fiber and the “selection 24h” includes a technology package, which includes “dynamic steering, the adaptive damper control system Audi magnetic ride and Audi laser lighting,” according to a press release.
The “selection 24h” commemorates the many wins the Audi R8 V10 has achieved in 24-hour races including, Le Mans 24 Hours and 24-hour races on the Nürburgring. Audi will begin taking orders on May 10 and the special edition will cost about $260,624.
