Aston Martin has just released the Vanquish Volante– a topless version of the famous GT car. It still has the heart of its hardtop counterpart, a 5.9-liter V12 engine that produces 565 hp and 457 lb-ft of torque. With this powerful engine, you can expect a top speed of 183 mph.
The Vanquish Volante is the first Aston Martin to feature body panels that are made entirely of carbon fiber. With this sturdy material and the engineering team at Aston Martin’s global HQ in Gaydon, Warwickshire, England, its the stiffest Volante body structure created.
Aston Martin CEO Dr Ulrich Bez had this to say about the Vanquish Volante:”This car is what luxury super GT driving is all about. Great performance, fantastic style and exhilarating Volante motoring in one superb package.”
The triple-skin lightweight fabric roof can be lowered and raised at speeds up to 30 mph and it only takes 14 seconds for the roof to go up or down. The windshield is also full height, meaning that the glass runs up to meet the fabric roof – a first for Aston Martin.
Expect to see the 2014 Aston Martin Vanquish Volante being delivered early next year, with a price tag of $297,995.
