During the 2013 Geneva Motor Show in March, Aston Martin showed shooting brake concept designed by Italian coachbuilder Bertone called the “Jet 2+2”. This concept car was based off of the Rapide and had minor visual traits of a One-77 for sale.
Even though the Jet was considered a one-off concept car, Aston Martin is actually showing interest on creating a shooting brake version of the Rapide. This revelation comes from an Autocar report that says the shooting brake would be a low-volume production vehicle.
Before Aston Martin can put this car into production, they must first come to an agreement with Bertone on the name. On one hand you have Bertone who would like to stick with the “Jet” name, but Aston Martin would more than likely prefer “Rapide Shooting Brake”.
What do you guys think about this car, a great addition to their lineup, or a misstep?
